Class Description:
Our August Teacher Development Session will present the approach, values, and process that SupermurgaNati! will use for the upcoming and future sessions of our S! Foundations Tuesdays Beg/Int Swing Dance Lessons - which will take place on Tuesdays starting Sep 3, 2024 at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center.
Goals:
1) Present and Inform the Cincinnati Swing Dance Community about the approach we intend to use for S! Tuesdays, the reasoning behind the approach, and the values we aim to uphold. The more our students, teachers, and other community members understand about the S! Foundations approach, the more successful we will ultimately be in developing more and better dancers and also strengthening the health of our swing dance community.
2) Prepare Teachers to teach at S! Foundations Tuesdays and in other venues as well.
3) Offer An Example (for consideration & critique) of one approach to providing Beg/Int swing dance instructional programming.
4) Promote a Common Understanding of how this part (S! Foundation Tuesdays) of our swing dance community operates to support future discussion, consideration, and improvement regarding this and other practices/approaches in our community.

Think to yourself, how would you define the phrases “Swing Dance,” “Swing Music,” “Swing Era,” “Swing?” Be prepared to discuss.
Bring any books or resources that you have that are relevant to Swing Dance History. Please mark your name and phone number on them.
