We're Bringing Swouzy Back! This time with live music on the Sunday before Memorial Day (May 25)
The Worldwide Lindy Hop Community (and other adjacent and/or related dance communities) is HUGE! There are so many events, people and online resources that generating an exhaustive list of them all would be, well, exhausting.
So this page is a living document that I will continually update and edit as best I can, which will be a very low bar because if I have my choice between actually dancing and editing a web page, well...
At the present time, I am promoting the Lindy Hop, Balboa, Blues, Charleston, Vernacular Jazz and closely related dance communities plus events/things that crossover to those communities in a beneficial way. I reserve the right to change my mind, but I currently am not (with the possible exception of Cincinnati content) providing links for many dance communities that are really great such as West Coast Swing, Carolina Shag, Tango, Ballroom, Salsa/Latin, etc. I simply am not a good enough resource to be valuable for those communities and it also would be too much work for me to try and be one.
I will try to offer my perspective on the items in this list and those perspectives will be biased by my opinions and experiences. I've been dancing Lindy Hop since 1995 and teaching it since 1997. I've done most of my work/play in the Eastern United States. I've also been involved in the community in other ways (competitor, judge, manager, producer, STUDENT, mentor, Promoter, general nuisance, etc). Maybe I can point you in the right direction or send you down a crazy fun rabbit hole, but I don't know everything (so painful to admit) and I'm not infallible (just ask my kids).
If you would like to request that I add a link to this page (or other resource pages on this website), hit me up on the Contact Us page. If you don't know me or know that I don't know you, or don't know that I know you, or - well anything, you know? - helping me out a bit with some details and simple copy/paste content will expediate the processing of your request. Anything you say can and will be game for my obnoxiousness and I take it just as well as I dish it out!
Lastly, I do love to reminisce about my past glory. If I have a relationship to anything on this page, I will absolutely name drop and/or humble brag!
Peace, Love and Lindy Hop!
