The Sonny Hill Trio is keyboardist & lead vocalist Sonny Hill, guitarist & vocalist Jim Sanders, and Shawn Baurichter on drums.
Sonny Hill was born in Helena, Arkansas, (birthplace of blues legend Robert Johnson). His music career began at age seven, playing piano Sunday mornings in the little Helena Baptist Church and performing with a youth choral group on the now legendary "King Biscuit Blues Radio Station." Eventually Sonny hit the Chittlin' Circuit, touring with Blues notables Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, Rufus Thomas and Jimmy Witherspoon. Hill was selected twice for the prestigious Cincinnati Entertainment Award for Best Blues and R&B Performer. Also to his credit: two consecutive wins at the Greater Cincinnati Blues Society which led him to represent Greater Cincinnati for the International Finals in Memphis, Tennessee. Sonny Hill performs a diverse selection of R&B, Jazz, Top Forty, along with the Blues. His own soulful ballads, Blues and R&B originals make any Sonny Hill "gig" a music fest.
Hallmarks of Andi's dancing include playfulness, complex intra-body movement, and a focus on partnership. She’s always looking for new ways to approach or present material, and is as much a dance nerd as an agent of chaos and silliness! Her focus on discovery, play, musicality, and creativity make classes fun and interactive- and her obsession with body mechanics and the joy of movement will hopefully help you to connect with your own body and your own dance in ways that delight you as well.
Andi dances primarily as a follow and often as a lead, competing whenever she can, as well as making solo and partnered choreography for events like Sweet Molasses and bluesSHOUT!
Based out of Grand Rapids MI, she enjoys organizing locally, loves road-tripping to events with friends, and spreading the joy of blues!
Jeff Segal is a blues dancer, teacher, choreographer, organizer, and DJ based in Queens, New York. Jeff believes blues dance lives on the social floor and is unique among partner dances for its approachability to new dancers, nuanced conversational connection, and limitless room for creativity.
Jeff is known for his innovative and characterful choreography and inventive partnering. As a teacher and a dancer he is particularly focused on the meeting of authentic self expression, technical movement and partnership, and sheer joy of dance. When not on the social floor, Jeff also loves DJing for dancers, cooking with too much turmeric, and Super Smash Brothers Melee for the Nintendo Game Cube.
Jeff has studied with Jenny Sowden and partnered or worked with Andi Hansen, Shoshi Krieger-Joven, Shawn Hershey, and Laura Chieko. He has won and finaled in national blues comps, including winning the Sweet Molasses Choreography Competition with Shoshi Krieger-Joven.
With zero prior dance experience, Sarah stumbled into a lindy hop class in college and never looked back! She dances everywhere she goes, and has danced in many cities around the world.
She began teaching in 2012 and puts great effort into providing the best classes possible wherever she teaches. Sarah's favorite parts of lindy hop are the improvisation and connection to the music. She encourages all the dancers in her classes to be playful and exploratory in their dancing and loves teaching conceptual classes that help them do just that.

Zoe Shepard is a jazz violinist, teacher, and performer currently pursuing her masters degree in jazz studies at Indiana University (IU) after training as a classical violinist since the age of 11. With no prior dance experience, she instantly fell in love with Lindy Hop in 2022 after her very first class at IU. Zoe’s dedication to the dance has led to her success competing at events such as LindyFest, BeanTown Dance Camp, St. Louis Getdown, and more. Concepts of movement quality, groove follow technique, dancing as if an honorary member of the band, and the fullness joy that is jazz music and dance are injected into her teaching style. Shelby Johnson is a self-proclaimed music snob, who fell in love with jazz at an early age listening to the sounds of Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and Count Basie. He really fell in love with swing music in the 6th grade thanks to a music appreciation class, and later started playing jazz in the 8th grade after 3 years in a band as a drummer and percussionist.
In high school, Shelby started playing the vibraphone and would transpose his parts for most pieces, as many pieces didn't provide written music. This developed Shelby's ear for music that was a huge catalyst for him catching the swing dance bug in 2011 in Orlando, Florida.
And BOI, what kind of journey that has started! 2 years later, Shelby became one of the premier DJs in the Southeast, being featured at exchanges in Florida and South Carolina. In 2013 Shelby moved to Dallas, TX, where he continued to deliver awesome syncopated tunes for Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa and Collegiate Shag.
Shelby's passion for social dancing, teaching and competing landed him the 2016 Frankie Manning Ambassador Scholarship to Herrang Dance Camp where he expanded his knowledge on Jazz Dance and Music History. Now Shelby is in Columbus, OH and continues bringing people groovy and rhythmic tunes to dance their best.
Daniel fell in love with swing dancing over a decade ago, mesmerized by the healing power of dance. The more time he spent on the dance floor, the greater his curiosity grew about the music that drives the movement. As that exploration deepened, Daniel began djaying with a focus on making each playlist a unique experience. His sets feature a solid foundation in the original jazz of the 20s and 30s, paired with a healthy dose of current artists, complete with a surprise or two.
